My interest is captured by a wide variety of subjects, barren or escapist landscapes, faces and seemingly everyday banal objects , natural or man made. I may set up these objects with the intention of telling a story, creating a mood or simply to observe the sheer beauty to be found in nature.

I love exploring the way light falls and the subtlety of colours singing off each other.

Occasionally I will bring in imaginary landscapes to enhance an ethereal other worldliness which I am drawn to. Although mainly a figurative artist I don’t want to be tied to what I see, I may abstract and allowed to be taken wherever a painting feel it needs to go, or at least that is the aim.

Anya currently lives in West London with her two teenage sons. From a multi ethnic family, half indian, half dutch, Anya was frequently drawing as a child, later painting her first oil still life as a young teenager.. Life takes its own turn, and Anya followed a career in IT telecommunications, enjoying the programming challenge whilst it lasted .

After becoming a mother, Anya pursued her art passion, graduating in Classical Fine Art at the London Atelier of Representational Art following an art foundation at the Hampstead Art School.

In 2021, Anya exhibited in the Figurative Art Now show at the Mall Galleries, celebrating 60 years of the Federation of British Artists and at the Bath Society of British Artists. Anya’s work is held in various private collections in the UK and Portugal and was featured in Tatler Magazine.
